Penzeys Spices

No I don't just eat salad for dinner...or lunch...or even once a week. Just because I don't eat bbq ribs, doesn't mean I don't want a stick-to-your-ribs dinner. If you've been vegetarian for a while, you've learned to be creative. You've learned to venture internationally. You've learned to search beyond the eye-level shelves at the grocery store to find the "unconventional" ingredients, such as quinoa and spelt. If we forego the fats of meat in our diets, we definitely don't want to compromise on flavor. So what's a vegetarian's favorite crutch?

Spices. And I'm not referring to your average McCormick acquaintance. I'm talking about Penzeys Spices.

Penzeys has 41 retail locations nationwide and the stores are stacked with more flavor than your nose can handle. If you haven't stepped outside the boundaries of Pot Pie and Meatloaf, then you may not be ready for a Penzeys experience yet. A trip to Penzeys is like having a passport for a culinary adventure: Bangkok Blend, Honduran Allspice, Singapore Seasoning, Candian Mustard, Albanian Sage, Balti Seasoning, and more. They have over 20 different blends of chili powder, 7 different peppercorns, 9 blends of curry powder, and 3 different Saffrons.

The best part? Their beautiful gift boxes, ranging from "Flavors of Asia" to "Curry Box" to "Grill and Broil"... They even have "Salad Lover's" - which seems so Madagascar-double-strength-vanilla next to all of the other contenders.
