Book Review: Wonderfoods by Natalie Savona

Looking for better skin? Noticing the wrinkles around your eyes? Savona cleverly organizes her book into chapters of our body's systems which are affected by what we eat, such as Skin, Age, Heart, Energy, Immunity, and even Sex.

In each chapter, you'll find an quick summary of that system and what nutrients you'll need. Savona lists the foods you can eat to improve your body's system, followed by recipes using these ingredients.

Try the berry fool for your mind and the sweet red onion polenta for immunity!
Here's her recipe for heart healthy savory walnut pate:
savory walnut pate
1 cup walnuts (in pieces)
handful of parsley
5 oz feta cheese, crumbled
1/2 cup water
1 small garlic clove
1 tsp ground coriander
pinch of cayenne pepper
olive oil
Put the walnuts and parsley in a blender and pulse until the nuts are ground. Then add the feta, water, garlic, coriander, and cayenne, and whiz briefly until smooth. Spoon into a serving dish*, drizzle with a little olive oil, and top with a few parsley sprigs.
*rfr Entertaining tip: For guests, serve in a martini glass with crispy flatbreads
Regarding the chapter that you're probably MOST interested in, I won't spill all 6 secrets here, but I will suggest that dark chocolate should be your new BFF.
